MARIO ZOZIN

Director

By coupling visually arresting imagery with classical film technique Mario Zozin has been able to create pieces that are both poetic and emotionally evocative. Whether it’s a high-octane action sequence or a quiet character exploration, Mario’s work revels in the broad spectrum of human emotion, crafting images of powerful resonance that range from the small and nuanced to the loud and visceral.

Mario’s creative career began in Cologne, Germany where he worked in multiple departments for various television production companies.  It was at this time that he developed skills in every major facet of production including camera, editing, producing and most notably writing, a talent that allowed him to develop and direct his own original programs spanning a variety of genres.

From here, Mario went to the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg where he set the groundwork for a versatile career by writing and directing music videos, commercials, and short films, many of which won him international acclaim including a 2009 Cannes Young Director Award for his short “Oleg – Life of a Weightlifter” and a highly coveted European Student of the Year Award from the Art Director’s Club in 2010.  His short film “Emil Orange” has also won international recognition and played in festivals all over the world.

Mario’s unique combination of craft and creativity has allowed him to create commercials for a client list that includes Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Chase, Lufthansa, Canon and the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra for which his “The Biggest Concert in the World” spot was awarded two Gold Lions at Cannes.

Mario currently lives with his wife and his two kids near Cologne, Germany. He´s also an ambitious endurance athlete competing in triathlon- and running competitions.
